Registration and regulation
CertifiBuild provides building certification across New South Wales through certifiers registered under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 (NSW).
Registration details
Our principal certifier, Pankeshwar Soni, is registered in NSW as a Building Surveyor – restricted (Class 1 and 10 buildings), registration number BDC04962. You can confirm this by searching his name or registration number on the NSW Building Certifiers Public Register.
Each certificate we issue names the registered certifier responsible and shows their registration number. Anyone can look up a certifier’s registration on the NSW Government public register at any time.
The law we work under
CertifiBuild Pty Ltd provides building certification through certifiers registered under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 (NSW). Certifiers carry out statutory functions under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW).
Building Commission NSW regulates registered certifiers. Each one is required to carry professional indemnity insurance, comply with the code of conduct for certifiers and with the Practice Standard for Registered Certifiers, and complete continuing professional development (CPD) every year.

Our registered certifiers can issue Complying Development Certificates (CDC) and Construction Certificates (CC), act as Principal Certifier, carry out critical stage inspections and issue Occupation Certificates (OC) for these building classes, within the scope of their registration.
Checking our registration
The NSW Government registers let owners, builders and councils look up a certifier’s registration status and any past disciplinary action. On request, we can also supply a copy of our current certificate of currency for professional indemnity insurance.
